Circle of Sisters (COS) is a traveling Women's Convention of Narcotics Anonymous. Cities that host a Circle of Sisters Convention have won the bid through a process (see guidelines). This is a convention that attracts "sisterhood in the recovery process." While our traditions state that no addict will be turned away, we respectfully request that our brothers allow us this weekend to bond in the common needs of sisterhood; and we thank you in advance for honoring our wishes (The COSXXIII Planning Committee).

The theme of COS XXIII year of celebration is "Surviving our Emotions." The Detroit West Area has been awarded the opportunity to host this event for the first time.

We welcome you to the "Motor City" or the "Big D," and would like to share some of its rich history and sights of the first Middle Class and residential City in the United States. Detroit is instrumental with the Underground Railroad that helped slaves gain their freedom. Detroit is the proud home to Motown (Hitsville USA) and artists such as Stevie Wonder, Diana Ross, the Supremes, Smokey Robinson & the Miracles, Anita Baker and our very own Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin. Detroit is also known for having the first mall (Northland), the first freeway (Davison), home of Better Made Potato Chips, Faygo Pop, and Vernor's Ginger Ale. Detroit is the home of the only floating post office, and these are just a few tidbits about Detroit.

We will provide the opportunity for you to take a Friday morning tour of Detroit (ticket required) - see registration page. IMPORTANT: CityTour/Lunch is SOLD OUT. If you are signed up for the Motor City Tour all participants need to be ready to depart from the hotel at 7:30 am, Friday, February 28, 2020. Kindly plan your schedules accordingly. Information as to where you are to meet will be made available at convention check-in. Pre-registration check-in will be available on Thursday 2/27/20 evening beginning at 6:00 pm.

In addition, Detroit shares International borders with Canada. If you desire to visit another country during your stay, bring your passport and take the tunnel bus which leaves daily from in front of the Mariner's Church across from the host hotel (https://www.citywindsor.ca/residents/transitwindsor/Routes-and-Schedules/Documents/maps/Tunnel%20Schedule%202019.pdf)

So let's "Get Down in Motown." See you in 2020
